You love each other very much, and both love sushi, weekend hikes, and traveling together… You are perfect for each other!

I don’t want to offend anyone, but relationships and marriage are not just about doing what you love with your loved one. It’s about smoothing things out and making compromises. The ups, the downs, and the in-between—you have to experience it all with your partner.

So how do you know if you’re right for each other before you go on a second date? Should you open your heart to him and get into a relationship?

Well, to be honest, no matter how many days or years you have been dating, nothing can give you an exact guarantee that it will be forever.

If you try to understand his interests, desires, and aspirations, then this is a step forward.

What many women are used to is entering into a relationship (and worse, marriage) with the hope that something will change in your partner. Maybe he will drink less and become a more ambitious, caring boyfriend/husband. Or he will want to spend more time with his family, flirt less with others, and be a more practical parent. Be less shy in expressing his thoughts and feelings, be more conscious about his health, etc.

And indeed, deep, lasting change only comes from massive reality checks and desires.  The problem with committing to someone with the hope or expectation of change is that you may be setting both you and them up for failure.

Asking your partner these 24 questions may be a way to avoid divorce because you will discuss the main issues first, giving yourself a chance to think before making a big decision.
