Our astrology is what makes up our personality traits, based upon when we were born and the karma into which we were born.
In astrology, there is a concept called negative and positive zodiac signs. Negative signs tend to be more passive, submissive, thoughtful, quiet, and introverted. Positive signs tend to be more outgoing, extroverted, dominant, and spontaneous. Here are the astrological signs based upon whether they are more negative or positive:
Negative:
The earth signs: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
The water signs: Scorpio, Pisces, Cancer
Positive:
The fire signs: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
The air signs: Aquarius, Gemini, Libra
Negative signs tend to be more selfless, emotionally-giving, and loving. They are more likely to be the ones who come off as “good”— they carry more yin energy, which is the light half of the yin-yang symbol. They tend to be more compassionate and are more prone to taking on the burdens of others. They also tend to think more about their words and actions. Though they come off as good or nice, subconsciously, they might be in a lot of pain. Their relationships in life tend to be deeper than their positive counterparts.
The positive signs tend to come off as more boisterous, self-serving, and charismatic. They are more likely to be leaders, bold, and action-oriented. They think less about the consequences of their actions. They also tend to take out their feelings on others. They are the dark half of the yin-yang symbol, and they might be the ones who we might associate with being “bad.” Really though, they are often just more honest, though they can be harsh at times. In terms of the physical world, like with work, when they step into their power, life actually tends to be easier for these folks than negative signs. In terms of helping others, they are the ones who tend to make changes on massive levels due to their charismatic leadership. However, they can feel a lot of emptiness inside due to living a more superficial existence versus the negative signs.
We all carry mixtures of positive and negative energy within us, so most of us tend to be somewhere in the middle, but there are certainly people on both ends of the spectrum. Think of the CEO of a company—that person likely holds a lot of positive yang energy, whereas someone working as a nurse might hold more negative yin energy (though these are just generalizations and there are certainly exceptions).
As a collective, we tend to all balance each other out. If you want to reach your highest potential in life, it is important to balance out the negative and positive energies within yourself. If you are a negative sign who holds a lot of yin energy, it can be a good idea to surround yourself with people who have more yang energy, including in dating, in order to learn from them and for the two of you to balance one another out. If you hold more yang energy, it will be good for your soul growth and learning to be surrounded by more yin energy. This might happen naturally, as negative and positive attract one another, but like also attracts like, so if you feel imbalanced, then one reason why might be because you are spending too much time with people of the same sort of energy that you carry.
Until you become aware of these subtle energies that direct the flow of life, you might not even realize how much of a certain energy you have been embodying or have been surrounded by. For example, the society we live in is a patriarchy, and being a patriarchy, it carries a lot of yang energy. You might be in a very yang sort of career and view life from that very yang lens. It might work for you for a while, but eventually, you will burn out. Yang energy tends to keep pushing and moving forward, but there comes a point in most people’s lives in which they begin to need more yin energy. Similarly, If you remain in a very yin energy for a long time, you will begin to crave more yang energy in your life.
Additionally, based upon the soul you inhabit and the karma you have been born into, you might not even understand that there are ways of behaving, thinking, or getting by in society other than the one you have been accustomed to inhabiting. It typically isn’t until you experience something that takes you away from those beliefs that you begin to reevaluate how you’ve been living your life, and that there are other ways of being that are more balanced.
Your worldview might seem so “right” to you, and as humans, we tend to view things from this very selfish sort of lens because it allows us to have an identity. There is nothing inherently wrong with this, but it’s important to understand the value of other peoples’ opinions because what they have been through shaped who they turned into. They are no less right or wrong than you are in terms of how they view the world. It’s all a matter of perspective.
